Why TatamiChess?
Most opening training prepares you for someone else's opponents.
Five choices behind TatamiChess, and why they matter if you're not a grandmaster.
Your games decide what you train
You start with the opening that costs you the most points, not a catalog. Your weakest opening is usually where the fastest rating gain is.
Your opponents' real moves
Every fork shows what players at your rating reply, from millions of Lichess games. Change your rating and the lines change with it.
Just deep enough
The white belt covers the positions you meet in at least 3% of your games. Blue, brown and black add the rarer replies when you're ready.
A sparring partner like them
The boss is a bot that plays your opponents' moves. You find out whether the line holds before it costs you rating.
Proof, not hope
Spaced-repetition drills until each move is reflex, then a real game. Win it and you wear the belt.

Same position, different opponents
Pick a position and a rating band. The bars show what players there really reply; the gold one is the move a master repertoire skips.

At 1100, 18% of your opponents play h6. Master repertoires barely cover it. TatamiChess builds your answer.

With the tools you already use
Keep what works. Add the part that's missing.
You learn on chess.com
Chess.com's Openings teach a few core lines per opening, picked for players under 1200. TatamiChess starts from your own games, fits any rating, and every opening is free during the beta. Your chess.com games plug straight in.
You have Chessable courses
Keep them for the ideas. TatamiChess adds what a course can't know: which of your openings costs you points, and what your opponents actually reply.
You use the Lichess explorer
That's our data too. TatamiChess turns it into a repertoire, schedules the drills, and tests you in a game.
You watch videos
Great for the plans. Then build the lines here and drill them, so the video's ideas survive the replies your opponents really play.
